Nokia Lumia Xpress Music Phone Looks More Like a Communicator

Deviantart member fabrivera99 created a Nokia Lumia Xpress Music concept and following this name, this should be a music phone. However, for some reason I find it to be more similar to a Communicator or to the Nokia N900 and N950, when it comes to the sliding keyboard at least.
Nokia Lumia Xpress Music Phone Looks More Like a Communicator
The strange print of the keys makes me think they’re actually capacitive ones, although that doesn’t seem like a move that any phone maker would pull. I like those playback keys on the side, that seem really useful and also notice the old school physical Windows buttons at the bottom. Too bad that the device seems to run Windows Phone 7, with that wasted space on the screen, instead of using the full display area.
The only bad thing I can imagine about this Nokia Lumia Xpress Music handset is that it’s too narrow and thick to be appealing. An unusual diagonal would be something like 3.2 inches here, while a nice one would be 4 inches or even more, although the image doesn’t indicate that. I would use a dual core Snapdragon CPU on the device, 1 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and an 8 megapixel camera. Is there any room for sliding QWERTY Nokia phones nowadays?

Nokia Lumia 0360 Xbox Phone Features 8 Core Snapdragon CPU

The idea of a Nokia gaming phone isn’t new and the idea of an Xbox Phone has also been approached before. However, combining the two has only happened in recent history, so it’s an idea worth exploring. That’s why we find the Nokia Lumia 0360 Xbox Phone concept pretty interesting, especially with the N-Gage branding also in the mix.
Nokia Lumia 0360 Xbox Phone Features 8 Core Snapdragon CPU
This phone is considered a tribute to both the N-Gage and the Xbox 360 and the result is a pretty bulky gaming smartphone. Nabkawe5 is the creator of the device and in case you’re wondering Nokia 0360, that’s the name of the handset, features an 8 core Snapdragon processor and a GPU With DX11 support, as well as 4 GB of RAM. There’s also 80 GB of storage with SD cards included and 2 x 2000 mAh batteries. Kinect for Windows Phone 8 is here and a PureHD+ Display provides the imagery.
The integrated Kinect camera will allow you to control the Nokia phone with gestures, the ones specific to the famous Xbox sensor/camera system. One of the two 2000 mAh batteries powers the Kinect camera and the heavy consumption areas, like the 5 inch screen, while the other handles normal phone activities. Do you see such a concept happening?

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 With an Interesting 4 Way Multitasking System

We’ve seen our share of Samsung Galaxy Note 3 concepts, but one more can never be bad, right? This is where our source, “gpat” comes in, sending us his vision of the next Galaxy Note. We’re dealing with a pretty wide device, as shown in the picture below and the form factor looks a bit like a fatter Note of the first generation.
Samsung Galaxy Note 3 With an Interesting 4 Way Multitasking
System
Inside this concept there’s a Samsung Exynos 8 core big.LITTLE processor, 4 GB of RAM and at the back we’ve got a 12 megapixel camera. Upfront there’s a 6 inch OMEGA AMOLED screen and also inside there’s a 5000 mAh battery, that should give you at least as much time of use as the Note II did. The cool thing is that the Galaxy Note 3 can split the image into 4 3″ 540p windows for multitasking. The platform of choice here is Samsung’s own twist on Android called “Android+”, so a bit more customization than TouchWiz.
The Holo UI is kept, the updates are promised to be more often (fingers crossed) and this new OS is optimized for multitasking and seamlessly integrated with Google services. For those who don’t know Samsung is expected to unveil the big.LITTLE processor next year, an 8 core ARM CPU, with one half being a quad core 1.8 GHz ARM Cortex A15 and the other being a quad core 1.2 GHz Cortex A7. The former is used for the main tasks and the latter for the quieter moments. What do you think of this device/CPU?

New iPad 5 Concept by Shaik Imaduddin

Shaik Imaduddin sent us a bunch of pictures showing what he calls the iPad 5, following the recent burst of leaks regarding that tablet. Just like the previous iPad 5 concept from here, this device adopts the iPad Mini design and enlarges it. However, the designer also sent us some hardware specs this time, so let’s check them out.
New iPad 5 Concept by Shaik Imaduddin
The changes in design aren’t dramatic compared to the current iPad, aside from the idea of making a bigger iPad Mini. The specs include a 9.7 inch 2048 x 1536 screen, a quad core Apple A7 CPU, an 8 megapixel back camera and a 2 megapixel front one. There’s also 2 GB of RAM on board, 32, 64 and 128 GB of storage and… that’s about it. Frankly, I’m not so sure Apple is already willing to change the Apple A6X CPU for a more potent one, but the extra RAM is always welcome, at least.
The 8 megapixel camera is also unnecessary as far as I see it, while the 128 GB version is also welcome. So, is there a reason to buy what’s basically an iPad 4 with a new CPU and better camera? Not quite, so Apple have to give us a big extra to pick up this device. They may put the big iPad on hold and focus on the iPad Mini Retina for a while… What do you expect from the iPad 5?

Samsung Galaxy S4 Hands on Video Shows an Excellent Concept (Video)

Samsung Galaxy S4 Hands on Video Shows an Excellent Concept
(Video)
We’re dealing with a model presented as the Samsung GT-i9500 and packing a 2 GHz quad core processor, a 13 megapixel camera and a 5 inch Full HD screen. The display is an AMOLED edge to edge display and the curves of the handset are more subtle than the ones of the Galaxy S III. This Galaxy S4 model runs Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie and it’s a very realistic handset. The futuristic part of the concept is actually the dock with a gesture activated keyboard, that’s actually virtual and projected on a flat surface.
If the real Samsung Galaxy S4 looks anything like this, consider me an instant fan, especially since the smartphone is very thin, looks like and its curved back makes it look like a very fancy mouse seen from the top. And that edge to edge display is so so well done… What do you think about this render? Check out the hands on video below!

iPhone 5S Concept Involves Projectors, Virtual OS X Experience in Thin Air (video)

The iPhone 6 and iPad 5 are making their way to the media, but we should expect an iPhone 5S rather than the next generation of Apple handset. Frank_Snk imagined a totally futuristic next gen iPhone, one that incorporates a bunch of projectors, that will give you both the work interface and a virtual keyboard to play with.
iPhone 5S Concept Involves Projectors, Virtual OS X Experience in
Thin Air (video)
This iPhone 5S turns into a Mac, a full fledged Apple computer and gives you the entire unaltered OS X experience projected onto a wall in front of you. Then there’s also a full sized keyboard projected on the table in front of the user. How cool is that? The whole process is detailed in the video below and we also have some shots here. It appears that the top and bottom of the new iPhone will detach and reveal the projectors, integrated within a complex metallic structure.
Just so you know, this iPhone 5S concept is supposed to incorporate 4 pico projectors, so it probably has a kickass battery to fuel them up. Other than that the design is pretty much the same, except for maybe a CPU bump to handle all the high def imagery. I expect an iPad Retina level resolution or maybe even 4K from that projector…

Nokia Lumia Play, a Gaming Phone Powered by Microsoft Xbox Technology

When you think about a gaming phone, either the PSP Phone pops up or the occasional Xbox handset concept. The latter is also the case today, through the Nokia Lumia Play render, done by Antonio Celestino. Describing this as an “Xbox Phone” is not at all far from the truth, since we’re dealing with a smartphone that’s also a pretty powerful console.
Nokia Lumia Play, a Gaming Phone Powered by Microsoft Xbox
Technology
Nokia Lumia Play features two game pads at the back of the phone and they can extend out and be used as such, improving the gaming experience. It is also possible to use the device as a gamepad when interacting with an Xbox 360 console. The device features a high definition 1136 x 640 pixel display, a touchscreen with Gorilla Glass protection. There’s also a 5 megapixel front camera capable of 720p videos, while at the back there’s a 10 megapixel camera with Full HD video capture.
This Nokia concept phone runs Windows Phone 8 and measures 7.6 mm in thickness. Lumia Play offers both a directional pad and action buttons, plus there should be some minor shoulder buttons available, although I’m not so sure. The handset has a pretty unusual shape, seen from the front with lots of straight edges and straight lines, so without curves. No specs were mentioned, but a quad core CPU and 2 GB of RAM would be welcome. Is such a phone possible?

Nokia Lumia 950 is a Curved Handset With a Futuristic Design

After so many rectangular devices and predictable shapes, here comes the Nokia Lumia 950 to change the norm, with some interesting curves. The design is curved both at the front and back and its profile too, so we’re dealing with something that I call “a flattened American football ball”.
Nokia Lumia 950 is a Curved Handset With a Futuristic Design
This concept was created by industrial designer Zelig Fok and you should know that the top and bottom of the handset are able to change color and light up for notification purposes. The color gets cleared when there’s no notification. At the back we have a sliding lens that makes you avoid lens smudging and the entire device is wrapped in glass, so there’s no exact and clear bezel at the edges of the screen. You always ask us what software the designers use for creating such concepts.
Well, this time we know: Sketchbook Pro and Photoshop and the designer is also working on learning some CAD. As you probably figured out, the Nokia Lumia 950 is a Windows Phone 8 device, with curved Gorilla Glass wrapped around it and translucent plastic ends. Wireless charging is also here and as far as specs go, the designer couldn’t decide on them. So, let us imagine the hardware features: 4.5 inch 768p display, 21 megapixel camera with PureView tech, 32 GB of storage, 1.5 GB of RAM and a quad core Snapdragon S4 Pro CPU.  So, what do you think of this Nokia industrial design?

Nokia Lumia 909 Pureview Phone Feels Like an Evolved Nokia N8

Karl Panase sent us an email with his latest Nokia concept, the Nokia Lumia 909 Pureview, a handset that combines the beauty of the Windows Phone series from Nokia with its most powerful camera technology. The handset’s design somehow reminds me of a modern day N8 model, that has evolved.
Nokia Lumia 909 Pureview Phone Feels Like an Evolved Nokia N8
Nokia Lumia 909 Pureview supports 4G connectivity and runs Windows Phone 8, based on a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor at 1.7 GHz, with Adreno 320 GPU. There’s also a Nokia imaging chipset on board and 2 GB of RAM available, too. The screen upfront is a 4.8 inch unit with a resolution of 768 x 1280 pixels and PureMotion HD+ technology, as well as ClearBlack Display. This is an AMOLED panel we’re dealing with and Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is here as well.
This model has a micro SIM card slot, 64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and 7 GB of SkyDrive storage available in the cloud. At the back we’ve got the centerpiece of the handset: a 41 megapixel Carl Zeiss optics camera with 10x digital lossless zoom, ND filter, autofocus, geotagging, face detection and panorama. Pixel oversampling is available, as well as improved low light capabilities and noise reduction. There’s a high powered Xenon flash as well. You should also know that this Nokia Lumia Pureview concept has a chassis that’s 8.5 mm thick and it weighs 180 grams, about as much as the Nokia Lumia 920.
The designer integrated here a removable 2500 mAh battery and Qi wireless charging support. He also compares the camera design at the back with the one of the Nokia N95, but instead of the manual slide cover, there’s an automatic one. Blast from the past?
