Nokia Lumia 8 Windows Phone 8 With PureView 41 Megapixel Camera Adds a Metallic Kickstand for Fun

Nokia Lumia 8 aka Nokia L8 is a concept Windows Phone 8 device created by Saeid Khajevand and pictured below. He imagined a handset that runs WP8, has a 41 megapixel PureView camera, what looks like a potent speaker at the front bottom and pretty much the same design as current hot Lumias.

Adds a Metallic Kickstand for Fun
You can see that the upper side is a bit more sloped than what we have right now and the device is a bit less rounded. All the major buttons are on one side, the right side, including On/Off, volume and camera, while the camera mechanism at the back seems way too compact to offer PureView 41 MP action. What’s more interesting is that Windows Phone 8 silver logo that extends from the back and acts like a kickstand, a cool one actually. Also it seems that we’ve got the microUSB port at the bottom, together with yet another speaker, divided into smaller pieces.
What I want from a futuristic Lumia phone is first of all to get rid of all that bulkiness and weight. As you probably know already, the Nokia Lumia 820 and 920 are quite thick and heavy, actually much thicker than current Android hotshots, for example. While Nokia may justify that through big batteries and camera sensors, the future will make even those thinner, so maybe the next Lumia flagship will go below 9 mm or even 8 mm this time, something that HTC and Motorola have been doing for a while now… Do you fancy the Nokia L8?

Ferrari Eternity Hybrid Wins the Ferrari World Design Contest 2011

The Ferrari World Design Contest 2011 was an initiative meant to gather designs of Ferrari vehicles from all over the world, for the sake of diversity. Well, this happened and included design students from over 50 schools all over, but in the end the winner was the Ferrari Eternity or Eternita concept, created by South Korea students.
Ferrari Eternity Hybrid Wins the Ferrari World Design Contest 2011
Kim Cheong Ju, Ahn Dre and Lee Sahngseok from Hongik University took the prize, revealing a beautiful hybrid electric sports car. Eternity has a body made totally out of carbon fiber, for the sake of lower weight and also on top there’s a lithium coating for extra engine power. The fuel of choice is hydrogen for this supercar, relying on the system “Fly-Wheel Energy Storage”.
Friction reduction and smooth driving is achieved to the Maglev system and this may certainly be the future. Of course, fans of the traditional and classic Ferrari design will say that they don’t like this concept one bit, but it’s time to evolve, don’t you think?

July 26th, 2011 (11 votes, average: 4.09 out of 5) The Mercedes Biome concept started off as an idea in the 2010 Design Challenge organized by LA Auto Show. They required the participants to create a vehicle that weighs under 1,000 lbs and that is still able to carry 4 people. This Mercedes car is very futuristic, especially since the main idea behind is that the vehicle grows from a seed. Biome relies on symbiosis, that makes it part of the ecosystem and the car collects energy from the sun. The Mercedes concept is based on nature and biotechnology, plus interaction with Mother Earth. It acts like one of trees and laves and it even collects energy from forests. This is a completely biodegradable car and its wheels are grown from 4 separate seeds. Also, the parts of the vehicle are genetically engineered and the exterior grows from the Mercedes symbol star on the rear. Meanwhile, the interior of the car grows from the star on the front… What’s really cool is that this sci-fi ride generates oxygen after using up the “BioNectar” it relies on for fuel. All I can say is… am I dreaming? The fluid design continues the Porsche legacy, but certainly better than the ugly Panamera did. Julliana imagines this Porsche concept as a community vehicle, that you share with other members of a car club. They can access the car from a certain docking station that involves a rotating parking structure. This ride uses gullwing doors and measures 4900mm in length, 1270mm in height and has a 2900mm in wheelbase. It’s very interesting to have the wheels covered only partially by a segment of the car reminding me of that Audi concept from the movie I, Robot, although that R8 I believe had wheels covered completely. This vehicle comes with extreme specifications and took the name Tuatara from a New Zealand reptile that’s a descendent of dinosaurs. In the Maori language, this means “peaks on the back”, a feat that’s shown by the design of the Tuatara, through the tiny wings on the back of the new car. SSC’s new car has a body made entirely of carbon fiber and the chassis and wheels will be made from the same material. The engine is twin turbo V8 (7 liter), that generates 1,350 horsepower, enough to make a Bugatti jealous. Shelby Supercars Tuatara uses a triple disc carbon clutch, 7 speed manual H-Patter or 7 Speed SMG Paddle Shift. I’d love to see it during a Top Gear show, being tested against the Veyron. His idea is influenced by the looks of a bird’s nest and the result is a Citroen concept that runs on electric power. The bird’s nest is based on safety and resilience, as it uses natural materials such as twigs, grass and leaves. Don’t expect these to be included in the car, but the concept remains the same. This concept focuses on protection ventilation and heat regulation, in other words the comfort of the rider and passengers. The body structure of the Citroen Metronest involves multiple layers of elastic elements and an irregular branching system. The electric motor and radiator grille are placed in the left section, while the one on the right will include the batteries. Citroen was chosen as the brand, since it’s considered the most advanced in design by Sangmin Lee. How do you like this asymmetrical concept? [via designbuzz] Posted in Citroen | 1 Comment » Citroen Egoiste Electric Car Uses All Glass Surface July 24th, 2011 (7 votes, average: 3.43 out of 5) How about a Citrocen concept car made of glass? I’m talking about the design of Ian Kettle here, who imagined the Citroen Egoiste as a vehicle that features a flat and low front and not very much space for the engine. Egoiste comes with a glass top, glass sides, for a better view of the surroundings. The battery packs powering the supercar rest on in the under-floor space and moving on to the design, this Citroen uses a rear hinged canopy reminding me of a jet fighter. Inspiration for this vehicle can be found in fashion houses in Paris, as passengers can walk the length of the car on a flat floor, in the area above the battery packs, just like they would stride on a catwalk. The wheels adopt a floral pattern, also being screens for the hub motors. Citroen Egoiste does not feature the classic grill or radiator since it’s an electric car, so it’s cooling is taken care of by glass blades, that direct the air where it’s needed. In case you find this impressive, know that the project was presented at Citroen Design Studio in Paris, last year. This project was created by Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares, as part of a program sponsored by Lamboghini. However, don’t expect Lambo to build this model, since a company called 215 Racing already set its eyes on the supercar and bought the rights to create it. A production version based on these images is expected and in the end the vehicle might not even be a Lambo at all, being called Mostro Di-Potenza SF22. This newcomer will get a mid-mounted twin turbocharged 9.4 liter V8 engine, a 6 speed sequential gearbox and 2,000 pound feet of torque. 50 units of the SF22 will be created and the price will be a very reasonable $950,000 for such a monster… [via Autoblog] Posted in Lamborghini | 1 Comment » Ferrari 612 GTO Created by German Designer Sasha Selipanov June 14th, 2011 (20 votes, average: 4.60 out of 5) It’s pretty strange to see a brand new Ferrari GTO coming from a German designer, but nothing’s impossible nowadays. Thus, we have the Ferrari 612 GTO concept, created by Sasha Selipanov, who did a tremendous job, I have to say. This model is obviously related to the next generation of Scaglietti and it’s a hardcore flavor of the Ferrari 4 seater. Sadly we have no tech specs, but I can imagine an upgrade from the 5.7 litre V12 engine we were expecting to see, plus a solid 600 bhp to start from, if not more. Sasha used influences from the classic Ferrari 250 GTO for this concept, as shown by the triple air intakes we see here. Autoblog claims that this is a hybrid between the Aston Martin One-77 and the Ferrari 458 Italia and they sure have a point. What do you think? Lamborghini LMP-F Belongs in the Formula 1 and Le Mans

Can you imagine a Formula 1 Lamborghini car that can also compete at Le Mans? Well, such a design was created by Sabino Leerentveld and you can see the concept Lamborghini below. This car weighs 700 kg and packs an incredible 1,200 horsepower.
Lamborghini LMP F Belongs in the Formula 1 and Le Mans
The vehicle borrows design traits from the top class racing segments. Lamborghini LMP-F has a front side and lateral air intakes that look a lot like those used in Formula 1, while the rear side of the supercar is classic Le Mans race car design. The specifications of this model are imagined ones: 22,000 rpm engine, 0-60 mph in 1.8 seconds and top speed of 263 mph.
Also, this Lambo prototype has a low downforce aerodynamic setup and the designer admits that his creations belong in the gaming world for now and not on the track. What do you say?

BMW i8 Hybrid Features 220 HorsePower Engine

BMW i8 is one of the latest concepts of the German car maker, that brings forth a 220 horsepower 3 cylinder engine and an electric drive system, borrowed from the BMW i3 and tweaked a bit. This vehicle reaches 100 km/h in under 5 seconds, impressive for the segment it belongs to.
BMW i8 Hybrid Features 220 Horsepower Engine
This car will use 3 litres of fuel to run 100 kilometers and another important power source is the big Li-Ion battery. You can charge that from your house supply and give it 35 kilometers of autonomy on electric power alone. Inside, we discover a 2+2 interior, comfortable enough for a family of 4. The BMW i8 uses the LifeDrive architecture, giving it a more sporty twist.
Thus, we find the electric motor in the front axle module, while the combustion engine stays at the rear. These sections are connected through BMW’s trademark energy tunnel, that other car makers would call transmission tunnel. The i8 has a low center of gravity and distribution of 50/50, which is perfect for this hybrid-supercar concept.
